Hi, Marlin's max temp for thermistor one is 300c and I believe it subtracts 15c from that for the max temp you can set when printing. So Marlin won't let you set it higher than 300c (285c when printing) since that is the max temp in the temp table for that thermistor.

So after about 10 hours with 250C, the PTFE just melts. resulting in a permanent clog. In other words, its not a high temp hotend. Its a hotend which can do max 230C just as the other extruder can.
